Working as a Photographer in Australia

Hi, I am Rakesh Maharjan. I currently started my job as Event Photographer in Suren's Photography. I am also working as a School Group Photographer in The School Photographer, Seven Hills, Australia.

Today, I want to talk about working as a Event Photographer what challenges I got and new things I discovered about photography. When I start learning photography, I was always focused on exposure and composition of the Photo.  I was spending most of my time mastering the Shutter Speed, ISO and Aperture. I use to see my shots, most of the time I was satisfied with what I am doing, but when I look at others work it makes me kind a feel like I am not even 1% of what other photographer are doing. I don't even like to call myself a Photographer. Then suddenly I got a call from Suren's Photography offering to work with him as a Event Photographer, I was surprised, happy and nervous at a same time. I never thought of doing events, I was more into Landscape. I did some portraits of my wife, friends and relatives but it was all casual. As soon as I got call from him, I try to find someone as a model to practice portraits. I downloaded lots of  pictures from internet, downloaded apps then start doing photo shoot.

As my first day started as Photographer, I got to realize that photography is not all about exposure and composition, it's just a small part of it, the fact is Posing your Model or say your client is the crucial part or Event Photography or Portraits. Because at the end, what matters is how they look in their photo. People doesn't want to see what skills you got or what dynamic you are. As long as they look beautiful in the Photo you click of them your job is done.

At last I just want to say, Keep on learning. I am still learning and never stop. Thank you.
